Responding to Data Collection Polls

Most polls in Rostered ask you to vote (see Voting on Polls). A Data Collection poll is different: instead of picking from a fixed set of options, you fill out a short form. Coaches and admins use these to gather information like sizes, dietary needs, or quantities, rather than to vote on something.

What a Data Collection Poll Looks Like

A Data Collection poll's fields can be:

  • A single choice from a short list of options
  • A number
  • A short line of text

The poll's creator decides which fields it has. There's no vote count and no winning option: a Data Collection poll is just structured information gathering.

Responding When It's About Your Athletes

If the poll is targeted at athletes, you'll see one block per eligible athlete, each with its own copy of the form. You can respond to one athlete's block and come back to the others later: each block is completed independently, so finishing one doesn't require finishing the rest.

  1. Open the poll
  2. Fill out the fields in your athlete's block
  3. If more than one of your athletes is eligible, you can add another athlete's response with the Add another athlete option
  4. Once you submit a block, it collapses to a summary. Tap Change to edit it again while the poll is still open

Responding When It's Not Athlete-Specific

If the poll targets your family or you directly rather than a specific athlete, you'll see a single form instead of one per athlete. Fill it out and submit the same way.

Changing Your Answer

You can edit and resubmit any block you've already completed, as long as the poll is still open. Tap Change on the block's summary to reopen it.
